Our Reporter Holly caught up with Adam Wilson and James Daly ahead of this years Glow in the Park festival at Benimussa Park, Ibiza.
Glow in the Park seems to be on everyones lips at the moment. Can you tell those who maybe don’t know, what it is?
Glow in the Park is a one day dance festival on Monday 8th August held in an old abandoned Zoo, called Benimussa Park.
Who is exactly behind this colourful festival?
Well there’s me (Adam Wilson) and James Daly (next to me). I have been part of the Garlands family for the last 10 years both in Liverpool and Ibiza and James who is the creator of the infamous MASQ parties – the warehouse parties where everyone wears white masks. Plus 2 other partners in resort.
The Zoo is famous for its style of techno. What can people expect to hear at Glow In The Park?
We have taken that into consideration and are making the music at Glow In The Park as accessible as possible whilst still keeping it credible. We have spilt the areas at Glow In The Park into different arenas to cater for peoples different music tastes, pretty similar to how a lot of festivals are currently structured.
You have a wide variety of well known brands at Glow In The Park, how did you choose the brands and why?
Originally, when we came together to create Glow In The Park we wanted to pull together the UK’s leading House and Techno brands to create the best content possible whilst giving the brands a platform in Ibiza.
The brands involved are; Mansion, MASQ, Deseo, Frontline Presents, Covert, Muzik, Exit, Holi Garden, Empire.
Finally, the aspect of the festival which has most people excited, the theme. Could you tell us a little more about the concept/theme?
Glow in the Park was really a scratching your own itch idea, with us all working in the industry and being tired of seeing the same type of event each week we wanted to add an extra dimension to the experience.
We wanted to create an enchanted world, which breaks from the norm. An other worldly atmosphere, with giant UV structures, tropical L.E.D performers, angle-grinders, stilt-walking neon fire-breathers, glow-bots, L.E.D balloon drops, firework displays and a lot of surprises!
Thanks Adam roll on the event on Monday 8th August!
