The world-famous International Music Summit has recently announced the stellar line-up for its hotly anticipated Dalt Vila Event. The three-day course is an incredible opportunity for those looking to be inspired and educated by some of the best in the electronic music industry. This innovative thought platform is held annually in Ibiza, as what better place to learn about EDM than the dance music capital of the world, where much of the genre’s iconic history was created.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of IMS, so is sure to be a celebration fit for such a momentous occasion. Founded by none other than pioneering BBC Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong, along with four other highly experienced industry partners, the event has flourished to become one of the highlights of any loyal EDM enthusiast’s calendar. Its influence has spread to China (IMS Asia-Pacific), Los Angeles (IMS Engage) and most recently has manifested itself in the IMS College in Malta, a fantastic educational-platform for electronic music. To illustrate the incredible impact that this platform has had, you need only to look to the creation of the AFEM (Association for Electronic Music), this is the global trade body which both protects and preserves the genre and its artistic assets.
To celebrate a decade of IMS influence, the event will be held in the beautiful fort Dalt Vila, the island’s only UNESCO world heritage site. Visitors can expect a truly unique and out of this world line up, showcasing some of the best in EDM. Previously unexplored collaborations will bring some fresh and innovative sounds to Dalt Vila, like Masters At Work’s Louie Vegas and Kenny ‘Dope’ Gonzalez performing not one but two sets. The first of which will be a partnership with The Martinez Brothers and the second with none other than Resident Advisor’s Top 100 DJ Poll winner Dixon. IMS creator Pete Tong will be joined by Moudaber, Seth Troxler and Miss Kittin, B-Traits by Jesse Rose and to top off a fantastic sound-clash, Tale of Us will show the crowd how it’s done with Maceo Plex.
Dalt Vila is a particularly special place to witness the magic of the white island, whilst getting the chance to absorb and immerse yourself in this unique celebration of dance music culture. One of the platform’s co-founders Ben Turner shares his excitement at this year’s event: “This line-up is by far our strongest in our ten years. We are honoured to bring in legends Masters at Work to be a big part of IMS this year and to see the likes of Dixon and The Martinez Brothers jump at performing with them has been amazing. We have a lot of special plans to celebrate ten years, most involve looking forwards not back! We are, of course, hugely appreciative of the full support IMS receives from the industry and artist community of the past decade.” So as you can see from the full line-up below, there is even more to look forward to at this year’s unmissable IMS event.
